In commemoration of the Earth Hour 2021, Eswatini Housing Board CEO distributed reusable shopping bags to its tenants, Woodlands Shpping centre customers and staff. This initiative was in support of the Phatsa Sakho Nawe campaingn aimed at encouraging consumers to swtich from single plastic usage to reusable bags.
Eswatini Housing Board is committed to actively participate in saving the planet through providing products and services that are supportive of green lifestyles thereby saving our planet, continent, country, communities and our livelihoods.
The organisation will be switching form non-renewable energy sources to renewable energy technologies through the following planned initiative:EHB is also encouraging green lifestyles within her properties through waste segregation project which will be piloted at Matsapha estate- Mobeni. This is to inspire switching to waste reduction, waste re-use and waste recycling within EHB communities by rreducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators.
In future developments EHB will maximise the use of solar energy to provide power to EHB residential properties in township and houses. This also includes switching from electric geeysers to solar geysers for existing rental units.
EHB's message is simple, one simple switch in the way we live our daily lives is a big step towards protecting our beautiful planet.
